VIDEO RETAINER
What is a video production retainer?
A video production retainer is a deal between an organization and Query Productions where the business pays an annual fee for regular video services. This setup means Query Productions is always ready to meet the organization's video needs without needing to arrange new contracts for each project. It's similar to a subscription for video creation. Like a lawyer or graphic designer, a video retainer ensures you get priority service, consistent quality, and a steady supply of video content to keep your brand lively and appealing.
What are the benefits?
A major benefit of a video production retainer is consistency. Working with the same team regularly helps them understand your brand fully, resulting in more unified and on-brand content. A retainer also guarantees a steady flow of video content, keeping your marketing fresh.
Another advantage is cost savings: a retainer offers a better rate than paying for individual projects. It also simplifies budgeting by providing a clear annual cost for video production, which can greatly help businesses manage their marketing budgets.
So how does this work?

-

Meetings to discuss upcoming videos or projects is crucial to making sure all involved parties are aware of expectations and key details. Unlike our competitors, we do not offer a limit to how many meetings are scheduled with our clients. It’s our goal at Query Productions to provide support when needed. It’s worth noting however that time spent in meetings is time that could be spent finishing active projects. It’s not in any of our best interest to be caught in excessive or unnecessary meetings. We aim to respect everyone’s time!
-
While each respective package states how many 2-minute videos are expected per month, this is merely a guideline to help gauge what’s possible. We could, for example, produce twice as many 1 minute videos or produce half as many 3 minute videos. This is also dependent on how many hours are spent filming each video. This is why we state a number of filming/editing hours for each package.
-
Each package offers an incremental à la carte amount which can be used for mileage, reimbursements, stock footage costs, voice over, etc. Let’s say you’re a client who has no use for any of the above listed expenses… In those cases, you can even use the à la carte amount for additional filming or editing hours! It merely acts as buffer to help balance each package for individualized clients needs.
-
We'll keep things simple! Each quarter, we’ll send over a quick report detailing how many videos have been provided, how many hours of filming and editing have been used, and how many hours are remaining for the year. We can also provide data such as how many miles or additional expenses have been accounted for.
